Sheriff Ezell Brown is featured in the May/June 2015, National Sheriffs’ Association, Sheriff’s Magazine. The bimonthly magazine is for and about the nation's law enforcement and criminal justice professionals.

The magazine is designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. It includes articles on best practices, procedures, and research in law enforcement, corrections, and court security. Each issue highlights successful law enforcement programs, NSA activities, professional news, legislative updates, and a calendar of industry events.

Sheriff Brown is featured in Meet the Sheriff, a regular feature of the Sheriffs’ magazine to get to know Sheriffs from around the country. The article summarizes a biography, his accomplishments and a description of the agency and county where he has served as Sheriff since 2009. Sheriff Brown has been serving in law enforcement in Newton County, GA since 1973. View the article here.

Corporal Kenneth Kent featured in the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Magazine

Corporal Kenneth Kent is featured in the April 2015, Georgia Sheriff Magazine as a Medal of Honor recipient. Cpl. Kent was involved in incident in April 2014 that resulted in bold and courageous actions.

The Medal of Honor is for acts of heroism or bravery where there is a significant possibility of serious physical injury or loss of life. Cpl. Kent received a certificate and ribbon bar presented by Sheriff Ezell Brown during the Awards Ceremony, February 2015. Cpl. Kent stated, “you don’t get into this to just to lock people up. It’s not what we are here for. I love what I do and I love to help people.”
