Sheriff Brown photoNewton County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time dedicated to being with family and friends to give thanks for all of the blessings received throughout the year. We give thanks for a bountiful harvest. For those that have not been as fortunate, we spread our harvest by providing a meal in hopes that no one is hungry on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving at NCSO
Thanksgiving is a family tradition. Sheriff Brown provided turkeys to all employees of Newton County Sheriff’s Office as a small token of appreciation and a contribution to their family meal. Sheriff Brown hopes the turkey can be a centerpiece for the great holiday meal each employee will enjoy with their family and friends.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office and Sellars Motors Inc. partnered to provide turkeys to the Newton County Ministers Union. The Ministers Union prepared the turkeys along with several other food items to provide full course meals to more than 600 individuals on Thanksgiving Day.

Prior to leaving for the holidays with family, Sheriff Brown made sure the Newton County Sheriff’s Office family enjoyed a pre-Thanksgiving meal. He provided meals on November 25-26 for all employees. The staff did not have to bring or go out for lunch or dinner. Turkey and all the trimmings were prepared for them during both mealtimes. Sheriff Brown believes the gathering for meals gave the staff an opportunity to fellowship with their peers and gave the leaders a chance to fellowship with individuals working on their teams. Sheriff Brown believes this kind act increases the agency morale and comradery.

For the third consecutive year, NCSO has continued their annual partnership tradition with Sellars Motors and Newton County Ministers Union of extending the true charity of giving.
