Sheriff Brown photoSomething to Talk About:

I am always amazed to see our elected officials, partners, sponsors, supporters and volunteers from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office come together to host the annual Back to School Supply Giveaway.

This year’s festive event was held at Newton High School on July 28, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The demands associated with preparing for back to school can be a burden on parents. Therefore, it was our goal to assist, which included: backpack giveaway, free haircuts, dental care products, voter registration, and resource information.

I would like to extend a special thanks to the Board of Education for their continued partnership, serving as the host site. I would like to also thank our contributors, elected officials, partners, sponsors, supporters’ volunteers and the Newton County community as a whole for working together to accomplish our desired goals for this annual Back to School Supply Giveaway.  With the help of you all, we prepared and distributed over 6,000 backpacks to students for the 2018-2019 school year.
